Apple sold six million units of the iPhone X over Black Friday weekend

The holiday shopping season was officially kicked off last weekend with Black Friday. While there were plenty of deals to be had, it looks like Apple had quite a weekend, with impressive sales estimates for the iPhone X.

According to Jun Zhang, who is Rosenblatt China Technology analyst, Apple is estimated to have sold around six million units of the iPhone X over the Black Friday weekend. This is out of a total of 15 million units of iPhones sold. Furthermore, it appears that consumers were more interested in the 256GB model, as it was twice as popular as the 64GB base model. This is good news for Apple, as the 256GB model is priced a touch higher and that means more revenue for the Cupertino based company.

Currently, shipping times of the iPhone X have dropped and this could be because the production of the handset has increased to around three million units a week. Zhang believes that the number could increase to four million a week in December.
