On Friday last week, Apple dropped prices across its range of USB-C dongles in response to criticism that the tech giant had priced them at a premium, despite the fact that they are all but essential to everyday use of the newly launched MacBook Pro.
On Saturday, Apple started emailing those customers who purchased USB-C adapters before Friday"s price cut, informing them that they would be receiving a credit to the value of the price difference.
The dongle price drops are as follows;
- USB-C to USB Adapter - Was $19, now $9
- Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Was $49, now $29
- USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Was $69, now $49
- USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter - Was $69, now $49
- USB-C to Lightning Cable (1m) - Was $25, now $19
- USB-C to Lightning Cable (2m) - Was $35, now $29

It"s unclear how far back the refunds will go (because Apple has been selling USB-C adapters since the launch of the 12" MacBook) , but it seems fair to assume that if you"ve bought a USB-C adapter since the launch of the new MacBook Pro, you"re likely to receive a refund.
