It"s that time of the year again, time for Apple to launch new iPhones. Just like clockwork, the Cupertino firm will be doing it in the second week of September. More specifically, it will be on September 10 at 10am Pacific Time in the Steve Jobs Theater.
Of course, the headlining announcement will be the new series of iPhones, likely called iPhone 11. There will be three models: the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and either iPhone 11 Max or iPhone 11 Pro Max. The iPhone 11 is the successor to the iPhone XR, now including a dual camera configuration. The other two are the successors to the iPhone XS and XS Max, now with triple-lens cameras, adding a wide-angle sensor.
What else will be announced, of course, is always a mystery. For the last few years, Apple has announced new models of the Apple Watch, although there haven"t been many rumors of one this year. That doesn"t mean it"s not coming though. You can expect a new beefier processor included in a similar body as the Series 4, and possibly some new power management features.
One thing that there have been rumors of is a 16-inch MacBook Pro. That"s rumored for an October launch, so it could be announced in September, or it could be something that happens later on. Apple has held a second product launch in October in years past, and it"s also been known to announce new MacBooks via press release.
And then there"s the idea of new iPads. It"s been nearly a year since new iPad Pro models were released, so it could be time. The base model iPad is also getting a bit long in the tooth. Another product that could use an internal refresh is the Apple TV 4K, which has the same chipset as that base model iPad and is two years old now. Of course, an internal refresh wouldn"t be something that can be shown off on the big stage.
The Apple TV+ streaming service could make an appearance, with some more information on when it will actually be available. After all, that"s something that the company is certainly putting a lot of effort into. Don"t be surprised if you hear about other services as well.
Of course, we"ll find out everything for sure in just a couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
