The new Mac Pro from Apple was announced at WWDC in June this year. Enclosed in a new stainless steel chassis that mimics a "cheese grater", the new Mac Pro is set to be a redesigned powerhouse that Tim Cook dubbed as "Apple’s most powerful computer ever."
Initial reports from the California giant indicated that the Mac Pro will ship somewhere around fall this year starting at $5,999. But we have heard little about it since then and the device is yet to hit the store shelves.
Interestingly, however, one potential Mac Pro was spotted in the wild today ahead of release. Calvin Harris, who is a renowned Scottish DJ, uploaded an Instagram story showing off his studio and some of the new music that he was working on. In the background of his iconic alliterations, a PC casing that seems similar to the new Mac Pro can be seen.
Having said that, we are not entirely sure if that is indeed the upcoming Mac Pro. There is a chance that this might be an ordinary PC casing intended to mimic the aesthetic of the Mac Pro. It would not be a surprise if it was, given how the Dune Case Pro—a PC chassis resembling the new Mac Pro—was shown off by Unbox Therapy on YouTube as recently as a week ago.
On the other hand, Apple might have given creative artists and chosen music producers a go at the machine ahead of its public release. So there is also a chance that this might indeed be the actual thing after all.
