The Special Edition lineup of Xbox Wireless Controllers is expanding again. Microsoft announced the Aqua Shift controller today, which comes in as part of the modernized Xbox controller slate from the Xbox Series X|S line, joining the Daystrike Camo controller from earlier this year in the Special Edition branch.
Landing with a unique shimmering design, the Aqua Shift Special Edition has a two-tone color shifting blue sheen across the front of the controller. It will also be the first Special Edition Xbox controller to feature rubberized side grips, and they sport a dual color swirl as a highlight. The buttons, sticks, and the back of the controller are a darker blue color.
Moreover, as with other newer-generation Xbox Wireless controllers, this includes textured triggers, bumpers, and back-case for a better grip during gaming sessions, and a Share button on the middle for taking screenshots, recording clips, and other social activities. The controller can be used across the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S console families, as well as Windows PCs and mobile devices.
The Aqua Shift Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller is slated to go on sale on September 1, and pre-orders are available now for $69.99 on the Microsoft Store and select retailers worldwide in Xbox supported regions. For those looking for a more personal controller, Microsoft also re-opened the Xbox Design Lab recently.
