It has been close to a year since Arcade1UP first unveiled its relatively affordable reproduction arcade cabinets featuring modern niceties. The cabinets were generally well received, so as you might expect, the firm has been producing new offerings, in an attempt to bring more of arcade"s biggest hits to home. During E3 2019, the firm announced three new cabinets, Konami’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Home Arcade Game, Capcom’s Marvel Super Heroes Home Arcade Game, and an Atari Star Wars machine.
Konami’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Home Arcade Game is quite different from previous offerings, expanding from the traditional two-player setup to four players. The cabinet offers art that looks to be taken from the original arcade cabinet from the 90s. The unit will include two games: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Turtles in Time. As far as pricing, you"re looking at $349, which is just a tad bit higher than the other cabinets Arcade1UP has offered in the past.
Capcom’s Marvel Super Heroes Home Arcade Game has the traditional two-player setup and will feature three games: Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men: Children of the Atom, and The Punisher. Sure, the last one doesn"t make sense, but hey, it"s another game. The price of the cabinet will retail for $299.
As a surprise unveil, the firm also announced an Atari Star Wars cabinet that will feature Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The company is touting how its cabinet will be the only one to feature "arcade software". Perhaps what makes this cabinet particularly interesting is that it will have an X-Wing pilot controller, just like the original arcade machines. Unfortunately, pricing has not been revealed for this unit.
Lastly, the firm will introduce its first cocktail arcade cabinets, offering head to head play with a split-screen display. There will be a Capcom table featuring 12 titles and a Namco table featuring 8 games. The cabinets will arrive sometime later this year and will be priced at $499.
