Despite NVIDIA providing an option with GeForce Now to utilize the power of an RTX 3080 for cloud gaming, it would seem that a more powerful graphics option may soon be available natively for laptops.
Database maintainer of TechPowerUP GPU and GPU-Z Matthew Smith believes that NVIDIA is developing a first time ever flagship TI of its Geforce RTX series for laptops. Graphics card specialty website Videocardz has spoken with Matthew Smith as to the origins of these claims.
An individual with the handle "Faintsnow" submitted a codename to the TechPowerUP database with the code "GN20-E8". Subsequently the codename was updated to "GA103" by the same individual. A few days ago, the product name "GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU" was assigned to the codename"s ID in the TechPowerUP database. Since this database is typically maintained by individuals who work with GPU vendors, it stands to reason that Smith"s assumptions may be correct.
Although it would seem that a high-performance laptop variant of the RTX series is inbound, there is less clarity in regards to what the naming of the GPU will be. There had been earlier leaks in regards to an RTX 3080 SUPER GPU associated with a Lenovo laptop, and another instance where well-known leaker of all things NVIDIA @kopite7kimi speculated that it may in fact be named the RTX 3090M.

Regardless of the naming of the GPU, the GA103 GPU is speculated to have a 256-bit memory bus with either 8GB or 16GB of video memory available.
