The long awaited Steve Jobs biopic, starring Ashton Kutcher, now has a new release date and, more importantly, its first official trailer. The movie, titled simply Jobs, will be released in theaters via Open Road Films on August 16th. The movie was originally set for release on April 19th, but Open Road said at the time they delayed it so they could give a better marketing push for the film.
The new trailer, as posted by Yahoo Movies, finally gives a sense of perceptive on how this movie will portray the late co-founder and CEO of Apple. It also shows how Kutcher will hopefully navigate his way through the various points in Jobs" life, from starting Apple Computer in the 1970s to being kicked out in the 1980s and then finally returning to Apple in the 1990s.
The movie has only been seen by the public once, as the last entry shown during the Sundance Film Festival in January. Kutcher"s performance as Jobs got good reviews at the time but the movie itself received more mixed responses from critics. It"s unknown if the version that will be released on August 16th will differ from the one shown at Sundance. Jobs also stars Josh Gad as Apple"s other co-founder Steve Wozniak, along with Dermot Mulroney, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons and Matthew Modine.
