Ubisoft"s Assassin"s Creed Valhalla announcement plan accomplished another step today with the release of the game"s cinematic trailer. See the new release in full above, showcasing the Viking-focused setting.
While confirming another open-world RPG venture for this Assassin"s Creed game, Ubisoft gave some details on the protagonist and what he will be facing:
In Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla, you are Eivor, a fierce Viking warrior raised on tales of battle and glory. Explore a dynamic and beautiful open world set against the brutal backdrop of England’s Dark Ages. Raid your enemies, grow your settlement, and build your political power in your quest to earn your place among the gods in Valhalla.
Players will be able to dual-wield heavy weaponry unlike before, such as axes, swords and shields in Valhalla. Sailing is also returning as players must travel between Norway and English kingdoms with added gameplay like fishing, hunting, and drinking games. Raids on fortresses, and settlement construction were confirmed as features as well today.
The game is being developed at Ubisoft Montréal with help from whopping 14 other studios around the world. Fans of the series should also be happy to know that the popular hidden blade - though not very hidden now - is returning in Valhalla. The iconic weapon was absent in Assassin"s Creed Odyssey due to the time the game was set in.
Assassin"s Creed Valhalla will see a massive cross-generation launch, coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia during the 2020 holiday season. Note that the PC version is Uplay and Epic Games Store exclusive. Pre-orders are available here.
