Today, Asus announced its latest laptop, the Zephyrus S, as part of its Republic of Gamers (ROG) line. The unit is a follow up to last year"s Zephyrus, and features a unique design. but also has quite a bit of power under the hood.
The Zephyrus S or model number GX531, features a 15.6-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. As far as power goes, the model will pack Intel’s Core i7-8750H processor that will be paired with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070. Although RAM and storage specifications weren"t revealed in full, it will be utilizing DDR4 2666MHz memory and NVMe storage. The laptop will also have USB Type-C, USB Type-A ports, and a full-sized HDMI for outputting to an external display.
The laptop will be built from an all-metal chassis, making use of aluminum and magnesium alloys, and will be made strong enough to endure even the hardest of bumps, meeting “military-grade durability standards”. Not only will things look and feel good, the laptop will also run its best thanks to a “proprietary Active Aerodynamic System (AAS).” As you can probably see from the image, the laptop does not offer a traditional design when it comes to the keyboard, instead featuring a layout that is meant to maximize comfort.
Since this is an Asus product, you will not only get an aggressive design but will also have access to customizing the LED lighting via Aura Sync. The Zephyrus S does not currently have a price but it will make its way to retail in September.
