Asus reveals professional 4K HDR ProArt PA32U and ultrawide Designo Curve MX38VQ monitors

Asus launched a host of hardware devices at CES this year, including the Project Tango and Daydream-ready ZenPhone AR and a convertible touchscreen Chromebook. Much like Dell, Sony, and Samsung, it decided to unveil monitors and display technologies as well, with the ProArt PA32U and the Designo Curve MX38VQ.

The ProArt PA32U is a professional 32-inch 4K HDR monitor that can reach a maximum brightness of 1,000cd/m2 (candela per square meter) thanks to a full array of Asus"s LED direct backlighting technology. Asus also says that the display"s "quantum dot technology" enables it to hit 99.5% Adobe RGB, 85% Rec. 2020, 100% sRGB, and 95% DCI-P3 color space coverage.

In addition to having two Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C) ports for daisy-chaining additional monitors, it also supports ASUS ProArt Calibration Technology, which allows users to adjust “color-accuracy tuning and uniformity compensation.”

The Designo Curve MX38VQ is an ultrawide 37.5-inch IPS monitor with a 3840 x 1600 resolution (21:9 aspect ratio). The design notably features “frameless” bezels, a 2300R curvature, and a silver-metallic finish.

The monitor also implements Qi wireless charging in its glass base, as well as 8-watt stereo speakers with Harman Kardon and ASUS SonicMaster audio technologies.
