Qualcomm just announced its new Snapdragon 855 Plus and it looks like ASUS will put the SoC to use in its upcoming successor to the ROG Phone.
According to ASUS, the phone will offer the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus which will be a 7nm SoC, utilizing a Kryo 485 CPU that is clocked up to 2.96GHz and an Adreno 640. The new chip is 4.2 percent faster and can offer the capability of delivering graphics performance with a 15 percent improvement over the current top model Snapdragon 855 that was announced in December of 2018.
Because of the current landscape in mobile technology is advancing quickly, with a focus on gaming, artificial intelligence, X reality (XR), and 5G. Qualcomm is offering its new bolstered processor in order to provide better performance in those aforementioned areas.
So far, we don"t know too much more about the ROG Phone II, only that the display will offer a 120Hz refresh rate, as confirmed by the company on Weibo last month. Fortunately, we won"t have to wait long for the full details, as ASUS has stated that more information will be shared in the "coming weeks".
