Today, Intel revealed its lineup of 10th-generation Intel Core H-series mobile processors, and with it, a lot of hardware announcements are coming from multiple OEMs, specifically gaming-oriented brands. ASUS" ROG brand might have one of the more unique designs, though, with the Zephyrus Duo 15.
In terms of specs, it features everything you"d expect, with the option to choose between Intel"s new eight-core processors, the Core i9-10980HK or the Core i7-10875H, and Nvidia"s new RTX Super Cards up to an RTX 2080 Super. It also has 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM, with an addition SODIMM slot for up to 32GB more, and two NVMe PCIe SSD slots for storage up to 1TB.
What"s really interesting about the Zephyrus Duo 15, though, is that it uses ASUS" ScreenPad Plus, the secondary display that it introduced with the Zenbook Duo family last year. On the Zephyrus Duo 15, it"s a 14.1-inch display with a 3840 x 1100 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The display also raises from the base of the laptop, making it easier to view what"s on it without adjusting your position. The goal is to use it to display additional information in games, such as the in-game chat in Dying Light 2, and real-time stats in games like League of Legends and Fortnite. Streaming games and managing your stream also gets easier with the second display, with support for the XSplit Gamecaster software.
The main display, on the other hand, is 15.6 inches, and there are two models available. One has a 60Hz 4K display with 100% coverage of Adobe RGB, for those more interested in creative work. For gamers, the Full HD panel with a 300Hz refresh and 100% coverage of sRGB may be the better option.
Finally, in terms of connectivity, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with support for 65W power delivery, three USB type-A ports - two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB 3.2 Gen 2, Ethernet, HDMI 2.0b, and a combo audio jack. The included power adapter is, of course, 240W, and the internal battery is 90Wh.
The Zephyrus Duo 15 will be available in May, with pricing to be revealed later.
