Asus shows off unannounced handset in new event invite scheduled for August 17

It looks like an invitation to an event has popped up online that will be the debut platform that will showcase the upcoming and long awaited Zenfone 4. This comes courtesy of the Asus forums which states that an event is planned for August 17.

Perhaps what makes this invitation a bit more interesting is that the firm"s latest brand ambassador, Gong Yoo, is holding what looks to be an unannounced handset. While we have seen leaks in the past, this is probably our first official look at one of the upcoming handsets that will be announced in the next few weeks. The company is rumored to have three handsets in its Zenfone 4 lineup, the Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4 Max, and Zenfone 4 Pro - but it is unclear at this time whether the upcoming event will showcase one, all, or some of the devices.

While the second half of the year is typically fairly quiet, it looks like this summer will be a bit more exciting with announcements from the likes of Asus and also Samsung. Naturally, we won"t know what Asus has up its sleeve, but luckily we won"t have to wait long to find out.
