Asus ZenFone 8 powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 lands in the US



The Asus ZenFone 8, which was introduced in May, has finally reached the North American shores. The phone has a glass sandwich design with an aluminum mid-frame. On the front, the Taiwanese brand has used the latest Gorilla Glass Victus for scratch-resistance. The handset is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance.

The ZenFone 8 sports a 5.9-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It is tuned for a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling. With its peak brightness of 1100 nits, the panel supports HDR content. The phone is powered by Qualcomm"s flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset. In the US, the handset comes with 8GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB internal storage to choose from.

On the photography front, the device is equipped with a 64MP main camera accompanied by a 12MP wide lens. The main module is backed by Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The ZenFone 8 can record 8K videos at 24 fps or 4K at up to 120 fps.

The mobile supports 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and NFC. It comes with a good old 3.5 mm audio jack and USB Type-C port for charging. Speaking of which, the ZenFone 8 houses a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. The device ships with Android 11 with ZenUI 8 on top.

The Asus ZenFone 8 is now available for purchase in the US via Asus.com. The base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is pegged at $599.99. The other model with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage costs $699.99. As per the brand, the phone is unlocked and is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile. However, it won"t work with CDMA-based Verizon.
