Google"s Nexus S phone was first sold back in December directly by Google for $599. Since then, the phone has been added to both T-Mobile and Sprint"s network. Now you will be able to get the Samsung-made smartphone via AT&T"s network for a nice price if you like two year contracts. The Best Buy web site has the exclusive on the AT&T version of the Google Nexus S which you can get for a mere $99.99.
This AT&T version of the phone has the latest version of the Google created Android operating system for smartphones (2.3 or "Gingerbread"). It comes with a 4 inch screen, a 1.0 Ghz "Hummingbird" processor, Wi-Fi support, 16 GB of memory, a 5 megapixel camera, and up to 720p video resolution.
In related news, owners of the previously released Sprint version of the Google Nexus S will soon get a big upgrade. ZDNet reports that the Sprint version of the phone, the only one that has access to Sprint"s 4G WiFi network, will get a software update on Monday, July 25 (the update was previously scheduled to be released earlier in the month). The update for the Sprint version of the phone "should increase 4G data speeds and signal strength for users. The software update also improves Wi-Fi connectivity, speakerphone audio quality and adds TTY support for the deaf and hard of hearing." While the update will be released via download on Monday, it will take up to three weeks for all users of the phone to receive the update.
