The NoDo update for WP7 brings a few new features to the table, but if you are on AT&T, it will bring more than the standard updates that most end users have already received or are in the process of receiving. In the AT&T version of NoDo, which may explain the extra time in the testing phase, end users will also be blessed with the WISPr protocol and support for AT&T address book.
This bit of information comes from the Windows Phone blog that talks about the latest update for AT&T WP7 users. For those with the LG Quantum and Samsung Focus, your NoDo update is expected to be delivered on April 19. But for HTC Surround users, your update will be arriving a bit later. While the extra wait time is unfortunate, you will be getting a small bonus of features included in the update. The Windows Phone blog states:
The update we’ll be shipping to AT&T customers also includes support for two special AT&T features. The first is “WISPr” protocol support, which makes it possible for your phone’s data connection to automatically switch over to AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots when in range. The update also includes support for AT&T Address Book.
If you have been waiting for these features, the delay may feel a little less sour, that is unless your an HTC Surround user. But, the update is coming on April 19 according to the latest reports and those using the Quantum or Focus will finally be able to join the copy & paste party.
