AT&T has now cut the price of its Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone to $199.99 permanently, after previously selling the Windows Phone 8 smartphone with the 41 megapixel camera for $299.99 with a new two year contract.
AT&T launched the Lumia 1020 just a few weeks ago on July 26th, and both AT&T and Microsoft have been hyping up the smartphone"s camera features in their own TV commercials. However, early reports claim that sales of the smartphone have been modest, In mid-August, AT&T cut the price of the Lumia 1020 to $199.99 in a few US markets for a limited time. It would now appear that the wireless carrier believes that the lower price will help sales across the country.
If you want to buy the Nokia Lumia 1020 outright, that cost has been reduced as well, although not by much. AT&T is now listing the smartphone"s no contract price as $609, which is $50 less that its previous cost of $659.
The Microsoft Store is still offering people who purchase the Lumia 1020 from their site a way to get the phone"s $74.99 Camera Grip accessory, which also doubles as an extra battery, for free with a new two year AT&T contract.
