Earlier this week, LG officially announced its latest flagship, the LG G7 ThinQ. Aside from the complex naming scheme, the new phone brings along a super-bright LCD display with the infamous notch, loud Boombox speakers, as well as new AI features for its camera.
Now, it seems that American customers have one less option for buying the phone, as AT&T has announced that it won"t be selling LG"s top-of-the-line smartphone. As reported by The Verge, AT&T is the only major carrier missing out on the launch, with the likes of Verizon and Sprint starting pre-orders towards the end of May.
The company says that it offers a "strong lineup of LG devices" and announced that it will be exclusively selling a new LG phone in the summer, which might put LG fans at ease. Previous phones in LG"s V series have been announced towards the end of the summer, but actual release tends to happen later in the year, so it"s unclear what phone AT&T may be referring to.
LG took some extra time to prepare the launch of its flagship this year, and AT&T"s move is undoubtedly a blow to the company"s expectations. We will have to wait and see how the phone performs despite this potential setback.
