AVZ Antiviral Toolkit 4.39

AVZ AntiViral Toolkit is a set of advanced tools capable of removing adware and spyware, network worms, trojan horses and Dialers. The utility implements specialized algorithms for detecting keyloggers, finding and blocking rootkits, and more. AVZ  is small, portable, really works and most importantly, FREE.

AVZ was developed as an independent, stand alone antiviral tool but the developer recently went to work for Kaspersky so now AVZ is a semi-official product of Kaspersky Labs. Parts of AVZ are reused in other Kaspersky products such as AVPTool, but as for manual diagnostics it still has edge over rest.

AVZ Antiviral Toolkit has several scanning and removal options. The scanner looks at suspicious open ports (an IDS system), running processes, detects suspicious keyboard hooks (keyloggers), attempts to detect rootkits via API hooks, scans for suspicious system drivers, analyzes the Winsock stack, checks for dangerous services (found Remote registry and remote desktop services enabled), verifies if disk autoruns are enabled, checks for administrative shares, whether anonymous access is enabled and more.
