Bandai Namco is expanding its Dragon Ball games collection this year. Following some teasers, the company officially announced Dragon Ball Game – Project Z during the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals tournament today.
Unlike the now massively popular fighting game which drew out an original storyline, the new title is an action RPG that seems to follow Goku and the gang"s adventures during Dragon Ball Z, at least until the end of the Frieza Saga if the trailer is any indication.
Not many details were shared regarding Project Z other than the trailer, which is almost entirely cutscene based until the very end, where we see Goku strolling past iconic locations such as Capsule Corp. and Kame House. This could mean the game will be an open-world adventure, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Dragon Ball Game – Project Z is being developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind the Naruto Shippuden games and Asura"s Wrath. There is no exact release date attached to the project yet, but it is heading to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2019.
