'Bastard's Wound' Expansion for Tyranny revealed at gamescom, launching September 7

Today at gamescom, Paradox Interactive unleashed a new trailer for an upcoming expansion for the award-winning role-playing game Tyranny. The new update named Bastard"s Wound will add a new region and several new quests for you to take on.

The game, which was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, is a spiritual successor to Pillars of Eternity. Tyranny takes place in a bronze-age era, right after an evil overlord named Kyros conquered every corner of Terratus. You, as the Fatebinder - one of the ranking officers in Kyros" power structure - are tasked with restoring order after several surviving factions have sprung up in the freshly conquered land, defying their new ruler. It has a unique gameplay style since it gives you the freedom to choose how to deal with your unwilling subjects, in any way you can imagine.

According to the press release, the DLC introduces a new region to the game, with more quests and people to conquer for your overlord, among other additions:

The Bastard’s Wound DLC adds a new region to the game, with a host of new quests and people to conquer. Delve deeper into the mysteries of Terratus as you bring Kyros" justice (or your own version of it) to a new corner of the Tiers. In addition to the new region, Bastard"s Wound gives you a chance to learn more about your party in a trio of companion quests featuring Lantry, Verse, and Barik.

Tyranny is currently available for PC, macOS, and Linux and the upcoming expansion will launch on September 7 for $14.99.
