Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4 Premium Passes are now free to grab for a week [Update]

Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4 base game owners are in for a treat this week, as EA has begun giveaways for both shooter titles" massive season passes (known as Premium). While the publisher has slowly given away all of the DLC packs in recent months, this is a great opportunity to grab the full packages in one go for those who missed out on one.

Battlefield 1 Premium Pass includes They Shall Not Pass, In the Name of the Tsar, Turning Tides, and Apocalypse expansions, which all amounts to 16 maps as well as all of their unique elite classes and weapons. 14 Battlepacks containing cosmetic items also come with the package.

Meanwhile, Battlefield 4 Premium Pass bundles up China Rising, Second Assault, Naval Strike, Dragon"s Teeth, and Final Stand expansions. And in addition to these maps, vehicles, and weapons, this pass also brings along 12 Battlepacks.

With Battlefield V ditching the Premium Pass program in favor of free maps for all players to avoid splitting up the playerbase, it"s unlikely we would be seeing another season pass be available for an entry for some time. Also, this giveaway should pump up the player numbers on DLC map enabled servers on both games by quite a bit, which should tide over fans waiting for Battlefield V"s, now delayed, release.

In addition, Origin Access subscribers should find the Battlefield 1 Premium giveaway useful as well, as the subscription only comes with the base game in its vault, unlike Battlefield 4. On the other hand, subscribers to the new Origin Access Premier service already have the Premium enabled edition of the World War 1 title in their library.

Normally costing a whopping $49.99 each, the Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4 Premium Passes can now be claimed on PC via Origin for the low, low price of free. It"s unclear if the promotion will be extended to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles as well, but we will update this page if it does occur. The giveaway will come to an end on September 18.

UPDATE: Battlefield 1 Premium Pass has now also gone free for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners.
