BBC to simulcast the first episode of Season 22's Top Gear worldwide on iPlayer

If you like cars and watching TV shows about them, then it"s more than likely you know who The Stig is and Top Gear, it"s the show that Auntie Beeb is forever apologizing for -for one thing or another. You may remember around the end of last year the news coverage due to the show using one of three cars to drive across Argentina carrying out various challenges with the number plate "H982 FKL". I"ll let you do the math, or otherwise hit up this link for the gory details.

Now, perhaps riding on the back of the worldwide attention it got from the fall out, endless apologies and "we really didn"t know" statements, the BBC has decided to air the first episode of season 22 live and for free around the world!

Good news for Top Gear fans outside of the UK. The show airs at 8 PM GMT, so that means if you are in Australia you will be able to watch the show at 7 AM on Monday, If you"re in the US, then you can see the show at 3 PM EST and 12 PM PST and so on.

In tonight"s episode, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are in Russia for an incredible race across the vast and very beautiful urban landscape of St Petersburg. May defends the honour of the car in a very small Renault, Hammond tries to prove that pedalling is faster by saddling up a bicycle, whilst Clarkson attempts to demonstrate that water is the quickest way across town, especially if you"re in a hovercraft. To make matters more complicated, all three presenters are racing not only each other but also The Stig, who is silently making his way towards the finish line on public transport.

In order to watch, you"ll need to grab the iPlayer app for iOS, Windows Phone or Android.
