Behold the Sonic Xbox Series S with fluffy gamepads

In terms of design, the Xbox Series X and Series S are somewhat primitive, no-frills boxes. Sometimes Microsoft releases special editions to commemorate a specific game launch or spice up the lineup with something slightly more exciting (how about a console covered with fur) than a black or white console. This time, Microsoft unveiled a truly astounding piece of gaming hardware: the "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" Xbox Series S with a radical pair of fluffy controllers dedicated to the upcoming release of the "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" movie.

The console itself swapped the dull white color in favor of black with a golden portal ring. Below the ring, you can see an embossed Sonic the Hedgehog 2 logo. Neat.

Although the custom Xbox Series S features a unique finish, the most interesting part is the gamepads that come with the console. Instead of smooth plastic, Microsoft equipped the two controllers with a fluffy red and blue surface. Microsoft says the gamepads have "coatings reminiscent of the bristly texture of hedgehogs in the wild." Okay.

Those are two weird-looking hedgehogs...

You can expect those bristly coatings to collect all sorts of grime and food leftovers from your gaming sessions and quickly turn into something similar to a worn-out Alcantara on modern Surface devices. You may assume that the owner of such a masterpiece will turn it into a showcase instead of ruining it with Doritos crumbs.

We might need glasses because these controllers look fuzzy.
