Expectations for Bethesda"s upcoming presentation at E3 next month were already running high before the company started stoking the fires of E3 mania with, first, the reveal of Rage 2 and, now, a cryptic tease regarding Fallout.
Bethesda is notorious for keeping things close to the chest until just before revealing its major projects at E3, and this has led to a culture of intense hype and speculation among its large fanbase. The result of that hype is over 110,000 people watching a Twitch stream showing nothing more than a Vault Boy bobblehead and a screen asking users to "Please stand by", presumably until morning when we"ll likely see some sort of teaser for this upcoming Fallout game.

The hype started earlier today when the studio shared a gif of the "Please Stand By" screen on its official Twitter page.
As is expected of the fan community surrounding Bethesda Game Studios, speculation has been running wild about the company"s plans for months now, with most rumours suggesting the next title from the studio will be a space-themed RPG called Starfield.
The Fallout tease from the company has certainly put a wrench in those plans, and fans have considered all sorts of possibilities about what it could mean, from a Fallout 3 remaster (the game will be enjoying its 10-year anniversary later this year) to an all-new main entry in the Fallout series to a spin-off a la Fallout: New Vegas. Considering the studio"s latest game, Fallout 4, was revealed just three years ago, it would be out of character for Bethesda to release Fallout 5 so soon, but it"s not impossible either.
