Bethesda partners with Amazon Studios and Westworld creators for a Fallout TV series

Bethesda, the company behind the massively popular Fallout series, today announced that the post-apocalyptic RPG series is entering a new medium. A Fallout television series is incoming from Amazon Studios, with Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy"s Kilter Films firm producing it.

The announcement arrived with a social media teaser from the official Amazon Studios and Fallout Twitter accounts:

"Over the last decade, we looked at many ways to bring Fallout to the screen,” said Bethesda Game Studios" Todd Howard. "But it was clear from the moment I first spoke with Jonah and Lisa a few years ago, that they and the team at Kilter were the ones to do it right. We’re enormous fans of their work and couldn’t be more excited to work with them and Amazon Studios."

The Fallout show has not begun shooting yet and does not have a premiere date attached to it. However, the adaptation has received a series commitment and will be available via Amazon Prime Video if everything goes to plan.

It will be interesting to find out when and where the show will take place in the Fallout universe as well. The games primarily show the post-apocalyptic side of things in the nuclear-power-obsessed parallel universe, though each story jumps between various locations and decades.
