Bethesda reveals Prey reboot, coming in 2017

Along with announcing numerous titles including Dishonored 2, a remastered Skyrim, Quake Champions and more, Bethesda Softworks has revealed Prey as well. The original Prey was released back in 2006 and although this new take on the title was thought to be a sequel to the former, it has now been revealed as a re-imagining of the first-person sci-fi shooter.

Prey is being developed by Arkane Studios, the same team behind Dishonored 2. The company has detailed the story of its upcoming game as follows:

You are Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to improve the human race. You awaken aboard the Talos 1 in the year 2032 and must uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station while being hunted by the mysterious alien force that has taken over. You’ll have to rely on the tools you find on the station – along with your wits, weapons and mind-bending abilities – to combat the growing threat and, hopefully, survive.

Raphael Colantonio, President and co-creative director at Arkane Studios also stated that:

At Arkane, our passion for creating unique worlds where you can improvise, experiment and play your way has driven our vision for Prey. We’re excited to show you more of the sci-fi world we’re creating at QuakeCon this summer.

The rebooted Prey will head to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2017, pricing details have not been revealed as of yet.
