Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates, continues to show up on television doing interviews. Earlier this week, he appeared on CNBC where, among other things, he defended Windows 8 and the Surface tablet. On Sunday night, he is the subject of a new feature on CBS"s long running show 60 Minutes.
CBS has posted up a preview of the feature, which has a quick tour of Gates" personal office. The centerpiece is an 500 year old notebook, the Codex Leicester, from famed inventor, scientist and artist Leonardo da Vinci. The 72 page notebook, which goes over da Vinci"s observations on several scientific themes, was bought by Gates back in 1994 for $30.8 million. It remains the most expensive piece of manuscript ever bought.
In the video feature, Gates says that he takes inspiration from da Vinci, stating that he was a person who constantly tried to push himself to learn more about the world around him, with no one else providing any kind of feedback. In another part of the video preview, Gates" DVD collection is shown, but instead of copies of Die Hard or even Star Trek TV episodes, he has hundreds of hours of advanced college courses to watch; not bad for a person who dropped out of Harvard.
The full 60 Minutes feature on Bill Gates will air on Sunday at 7 pm Eastern time on CBS.
