With the 2012 Summer Olympic Games now taking place in London, people who use both the Bing search search and Bing Maps from Microsoft will be able to benefit from some added features that Microsoft is putting into place.
In a post on the official Bing blog, Microsoft states it will offer up Instant Answers to Bing search inquires based on the most commonly searched Olympic Games terms. For example, typing in "medal count" will bring up the current tally of medals received by each country during the Summer Olympics.
Bing Maps is getting some London Olympic fever as well. The blog states that Microsoft has added new high resolution Bird’s Eye, Streetside, and Aerial Imagery images of London in Bing Maps. That includes the Orbit, the odd looking structure that"s placed next to the official London Olympic Stadium.
If you happen to be attending London and want to visit some of the official Olympic venues, the post says that you can check them out ahead of time via Bing Maps. It states, "Bing has mapped out 15 individual Olympic venues, in addition to the newly constructed Olympic Park." Finally, Bing Maps has added 31 local train lines to its existing London Underground and bus routes to help people get around the city during the Games.
