Microsoft launched its Bing Rewards program nearly three years ago but since then the company hasn"t really done much in terms of promoting it to the mainstream web surfer. That stance may be changing today thanks to a newly uploaded Bing TV commercial on YouTube.
As with most Bing TV ads, the new commercial shows how Bing is supposed to be better than using its well known competition Google. In this case, the ad shows how a web surfer gains points on a Bing Rewards account just by searching for things to do on a date via Bing. Google is shown not to have that same feature.
The end of the ad shows the Bing user turning in some Bing Rewards points for a Fandango digital gift card that can be used to take his or her significant other to the movies. The Bing Reward program also offers way to get digital gift cards from other businesses like Amazon, Groupon, Starbucks, Redbox and others. Bing Rewards points can also be used to buy Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, Windows Phone apps and games and Skype minutes, along with ways to enter special giveaways and sweepstakes. The points can even be used for charity donations.
