Bing rolls out Olympic updates

Bing is helping its users stay up to date with the Olympic games, thanks to a new Olympic Instant Answers feature, and that’s in addition to a fresh coat of paint highlighting the games.

Instant Answers lets you pull down information and stats quickly, whether it’s a schedule, medal tallies, or info on your favorite athlete. We tried it out a couple of times to see what happened, and it actually works pretty well. It looks like it’d be particularly useful if you were trying to pull up some quick info while on the go.

Even Bing Maps is getting in on the action, unveiling a host of new London imagery, from Bird’s Eye to Streetside. The imagery is all top notch quality, and there’s another really special treat for you if you’re actually lucky enough to be attending the games: up close and personal maps of Olympic venues that help you find everything from vendors to your seat. From there, you can use updated transit directories to find a ride back to your hotel, or to the next event.

We’ve got to say, it’s pretty cool to see Microsoft working to keep Bing relevant to current events by putting important information front and center in a way that is more than skin deep and is actually pretty useful, which is more than the competition can say.
