Microsoft has assisted startup businesses for a long time. For example, the company has launched an effort to assist development companies that want to work with Microsoft"s Kinect technology. Now it looks like the company will be launching yet another startup assistance effort of this type in the future. This news comes via an update on the LinkedIn page of a Microsoft team member.
That team member is Rahul Sood, who started working at Microsoft in its Xbox division in December 2010. He is perhaps best known as the founder of VoodooPC,.Founded in 1991, the company made high end gaming PCs. VoodooPC was later acquired by HP in September 2006. Sood worked for HP until 2010 when he went to join Microsoft.
Now, Sood"s LinkedIn page indicated he has switched over from the Xbox group at Microsoft over to the Bing division. The page has him stating that the reason for the switch was to have him "create a new program designed for entrepreneurs & startups in BING...quite simply an opportunity I couldn"t pass up -- and I"ll be able to share more details later."
Hopefully we will learn more about this new Bing startup program in the very near future.
