Bing.com testing new button that offers more info on daily background

Microsoft continues to tweak the main page of its Bing search site. The page has seen its share of changes and additions over the past few years, including adding support for showing HTML5-based videos as its daily background. Now it appears that Microsoft is making another small but interesting change to the Bing front page.

Some users of Bing are seeing a new information button on the main page. When that button is clicked, it shows more information on the location that the daily background image is promoting. Normally, the front page has "hot links" inside the image that when clicked activates search results on Bing for more information on the location, but this appears to be a more direct method.

The info button also appears to add some kind of Facebook integration. In this case, the background image, showing the Jambiani Beach on Zanzibar Island in Tanzania, brings up a Facebook conversation that asks, "Which shores are calling you?"

Again, this new image info button is not visible for all Bing.com visitors, but its likely that Microsoft is trying to get some feedback from a limited number of users before rolling this new feature out to the public.
