It"s been a weekend of BlackBerry leaks so far, first with us bringing you video of the new BlackBerry Storm 3, and now photos of the BlackBerry Bold Touch Dakota/Montana.
The new photos come courtesy of n4bb.com and show an all-metal body, complete with a 2.8 inch 640x480 capacitive screen. Below that is the customary BlackBerry keyboard we all know and love.
The current expected spec-sheet reads:
- 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen with a 640x480 resolution
- Magnetrometer, Accelerometer and Proximity Sensor
- Near Field Communication (NFC)
- 5MP rear-facing camera
- 512MB of RAM
The model in the photos has around 6.5GB of storage, though it"s unclear whether production handsets will be the same. Unfortunately there"s no word yet on what kind of processor will power the BlackBerry Bold Touch, though with past disappointments such as the first two Storm handsets -- as well as the more recent Torch -- it"s expected RIM will not skimp on such an integral part of the experience. Given the PlayBook"s beefy 1.2GHz dual-core chip it"s clear RIM aren"t shy when it comes to horsepower these days. Fingers crossed they won"t sell this shiny new phone short.
Also, after a quick look through the photos at n4bb, it also appears the rear of the device is dressed in some sort of carbon fibre, though whether that is a fancy-looking plastic remains to be seen.
One thing is for sure, though. This looks to be one of the more attractive BlackBerry smartphones to come out of Canada. Now it just needs the performance (and apps) to match its looks.
