BlackBerry KEY2 pre-orders start on June 29 and will be available to purchase on July 13

It was at the beginning of the month when BlackBerry announced its new handset, the KEY2. The smartphone has a price starting at $649, will be available for pre-order from retailers like Best Buy and Amazon starting on June 29, and has a retail release date of July 13.

Despite its price, the KEY2 isn"t packing a top-tier Qualcomm processor and will instead be relying on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. It will also have 6GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The KEY2 will feature a physical keyboard like its predecessor but will have some notable enhancements from last year"s model, with slightly larger keys, a new Speed Key to access shortcuts more efficiently, and new matte finish. The device will also be the first in the new BlackBerry line to offer a dual camera setup, making use of two 12MP sensors.

If you"re on the fence about purchasing one, you can always check out Rich Woods" unboxing and first impressions of the smartphone. Otherwise, head to Best Buy or Amazon next week to get in your pre-orders.
