BlackBerry formally announced its new KEY2 handset almost two weeks ago, including a Snapdragon 660 chipset and BlackBerry"s first ever dual-lens camera.
But of course, the headlining feature is the physical keyboard. Indeed, it"s a physical keyboard in an age when touchscreens have won, but BlackBerry has packed a lot of interesting features into this one. The space bar has a fingerprint sensor, and the keys can be used as shortcuts to launch apps. You can also use swipe gestures to type messages, just like you would on a touchscreen.
I really like some of BlackBerry"s stock apps, such as the messaging Hub, which combines your SMS, email, and any other messaging service into a single app. Other apps, like BBM, seem utterly pointless, considering that I don"t know a single other person that uses it.
At the end of the day, it feels like this phone is going to come down to the physical keyboard, not just whether you prefer it, but how it affects other aspects of the device.
