A lot of rumors have been recently flying around regarding BlackBerry"s new smartphone, codenamed Venice. The device is expected to run the Android operating system, which is supposed to be a first for BlackBerry, after releasing phones using its own OS.
A couple of days ago, an image of the alleged Android phone leaked online, featuring the phone"s slide-out physical keyboard. Information regarding the device"s future availability was also announced. And just recently, semi-retired leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks on Twitter) has posted new videos that highlights some of the Venice"s upcoming features.
The handset"s slide-out keyboard and 18-megapixel camera are detailed in the first animation, shown above.
The second animation above, shows the phone in its full glory, exhibiting the device"s keyboard"s slide-out motion. It is worth noticing that the handset seems to come with Google apps such as Drive, Keep, Maps, and others. It is rumored that the Venice will have access to the Google Play Store, and confirming a previous report, the device is expected to come with Microsoft apps, such as Bing and Skype.
For its specifications, recent leaks point out that the BlackBerry Venice will feature a Quad HD (2560x1440px) screen, a hexa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 processor, and 3 GB of RAM. The device is seen running Android Lollipop, but it is possible that it will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which was recently announced.
