BLU debuts its Life One X3 to replace the Life One X2 it crippled

While you might have never heard of BLU, chances are, you might have heard about a company that sent a bad over-the-air (OTA) update to its customers which locked them out their Life One X2 devices. While the company was initially silent about a solution, it looks to have just announced one, in the form of a successor, the Life One X3.

All jokes aside, BLU has released the Life One X3, which offers a fairly modern design, despite it lacking an 18:9 display. The handset packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a MediaTek 6753 processor with a Mali-T720 GPU, and 3GB RAM. It also has a 13MP rear- and 13MP front-facing camera, along with 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD. The unit should be able to last through an entire day with its large 5,000mAh battery that offers Quick Charge.

It is unknown at this time where this handset will be sold and for how much, since clicking the "BUY NOW" button on its website just opens the same webpage. But if the past is any indication, it should arrive to retailers like Amazon and Best Buy sometime in the near future.

In the meantime, it appears that BLU has resolved the lockout issue affecting the Life One X2 after having issued a new software update.
