Borderlands 2 is still scheduled to launch later this year, but today the game"s developer Gearbox Software revealed plans to offer fans not one but two special editions to the first person shooter-RPG sequel. The Gearboxity community site has the details on both the Deluxe Vault Hunter"s Collectors Edition and the Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition.
The Deluxe Vault Hunter"s Collectors Edition, priced at $99.99, will contain a number of cool looking extras besides the game disk, such as a Marcus Kincaid bobble head, a hardbound art book, a map of the game"s planet of Pandora, a code to download a digital Borderlands comic book and a four sticker set.
The Borderlands 2 Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition, priced at $149.99, will be packaged in a very cool looking replica of Borderlands" loot case. Inside you will get the game disk with its own SteelBook case, the bobble head packaged in its own case, a cloth version of the Pandora map, the hardback art book, the stickers and the comic book download, plus four lithograph postcards, a wide format chart showing the creatures of Pandora, and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Anyone who pre-orders either of the special editions or the regular version of Borderlands 2 will also get access to some early in-game unlocks when the game is released including the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key, the Vault Hunter’s Relic and the Mechromancer character class.
The game itself will be released via publisher 2K Games for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms on September 18th.
