At E3 in 2011, Gearbox Software and Ubisoft showed us a hands-off demo of Brothers in Arms: Furious 4, a spin-off game in the WWII shooter series that was more fun and less historically serious than previous entries. Since then, Gearbox and Ubisoft have been silent about the game"s development, other than saying it was not cancelled.
On Sunday, in a presentation at PAX Prime, Kotaku reports that Gearbox has now decided to dump the title of the game due to the fact that its premise has been changed so much since its E3 2011 demo.
Details about what this new version of the game will be like were not revealed, although it sounds like it will blend two different genres, much like how Gearbox"s Borderlands series mixes up the FPS and RPG genres.
Gearbox will reveal more details about the game formerly known as Brothers In Arms: Furious 4 sometime in the near future. And what about the next game in the Brothers In Arms series? Gearbox plans to make some announcements in that area at its annual community day event in Dallas on September 15th, a few days before Borderlands 2 is released for the PC and other platforms.
