Apple"s "one more thing" turned out to be the iPad Air, which was announced two days ago at their conference. The 9.7" tablet. Sharing the exterior design of the existing iPad mini, just with a larger screen, which is noticeably thinner and only weighs 1 Pound. At 7.5 millimetres thin, it"s 20% thinner and 28% lighter than the 4th generation iPad. The device includes a 64-bit A7 processor which will power the same retina display that has been present since "the new iPad", released early last year. It has double the graphics performance - 72x faster than the original iPad, and 8x faster a CPU than the first.
Anyway enough of that. Apple has now employed Bryan Cranston to push the device out to Apple enthusiasts in his first appearance since Breaking Bad as "Walter White".
The star of the one-minute spot is actually just a pencil, with the iPad Air only making an appearance right at the end. The point, as Apple puts it, is that an "extremely simple tool" can also be "extremely powerful."
