Buckingham Palace is offering £30,000 per year for someone to tweet on behalf of the Queen

The Royal Family has posted a job listing for a digital communications officer, required to help shape the Queen"s online presence across the various popular social media platforms. The full time role pays £30,000 a year and would involve working at the Queen"s residence, in Buckingham Palace.

According to The Royal Household"s job listing:

It"s knowing your content will be viewed by millions. [...] Joining this fast paced and dynamic team, your challenge will be to manage and oversee the daily news flow on digital and social networking platforms, as well as play a key part in some of the digital projects.

It has become increasingly common for the monarch to share news of official engagements, state visitors and award ceremonies across the web. In June 2016, the Queen personally tweeted her thanks for the thousands of messages celebrating her 90th birthday.

I am most grateful for the many digital messages of goodwill I have received and would like to thank you all for your kindness. Elizabeth R.

The job would include access to the monarch"s 2.77 million Twitter followers, her official Facebook page and a newly created Royal Family website. The job listing requires applicants possess "good photography skills with experience producing live social media content" - whilst also mentioning video production experience would be desirable.

The job includes a 15% employer contribution pension scheme, 33 days annual leave and access to continued training and development opportunities.
