Ten years ago, the Criterion Games-developed racer Burnout Paradise released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and went on to become one of the most beloved games in the genre. Today, EA announced that racing fans will soon be able to take the game out for a spin once again with a newly remastered edition, incoming next month for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, followed by a PC version later in the year.
Here is a short description regarding the remaster by EA:
Players will be transported back into the world of Paradise City to tear it up in the ultimate driving playground, from hectic downtown avenues to the wild mountain roads. Pull off high-octane stunts and create insane car destruction in one of the greatest arcade-driving games ever created.
The remaster brings along the base game with all its updates, as well as the DLC packs - minus Time Savers - that were released for it. This means that the Big Surf Island expansion that never released on the PC version will finally be available to fans on the platform.
EA did not go into great detail on what graphical improvements we can expect from the remaster, only saying that it "features a range of technical enhancements for greater visual fidelity," with 4K 60fps support for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, while the regular editions will run at 1080p.
Burnout Paradise Remastered is set to launch on March 16 for $39.99 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a Play First Trial available on March 9 to EA Access subscribers on Xbox One. The PC version"s exact release date will stay under wraps for now, with EA saying it will be available sometime later this year on its Origin store.
