Call of Duty fans have uncovered a teaser trailer for the next entry in the yearly series, catch it above. A long trail of breadcrumbs left both in real life and in Warzone finally pointed towards this reveal, which confirms the game"s title as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and also gives a date for the full reveal, August 26.
The set up also seemingly confirms previous rumors and leaks, which said the series is going back to its roots - similar to the very successful Modern Warfare reboot -, rebooting the sub-franchise that has so far churned out four entries in the past 10 years. A single-player campaign is also expected this time, something that was missing from the 2018 entry Black Ops IIII.
As previously confirmed, Treyarch is the lead developer on this entry while Raven Software is providing support.
As seen on the teaser, Activision and developers will be unveiling Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on August 26. Interestingly, the teaser description points towards the announcement happening in Verdansk, the free-to-play Warzone"s setting. The trailer could arrive as part of an in-game event that players can watch together, similar to Fortnite events.
