Call of Duty Black Ops II multiplayer trailer released

Developer Treyarch and publisher Activision have previously shown just some of the single player campaign for the upcoming first person shooter sequel Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Today, they showed off the first trailer for the game"s multiplayer mode, including some of its near future weapons.

The trailer, as posted on YouTube, shows what looks like a portable microwave transmitter that takes out enemies. There"s also a nice looking rocket launcher with a fancy targeting user interface and lots of armed robot drones, both on the ground and in the air.

The end of the trailer also shows a match with voice comments, which likely means that Black Ops II will have some kind of native support for competitive shoutcasting of multiplayer matches. This will please many in the eSports scene, which have used the previous Call of Duty games in their tournaments.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is currently scheduled to be released on the PC and other platforms on November 13th. The PC version will have support for DirectX 11 graphical effects, a first for the Call of Duty series, along with support for multiplayer dedicated servers. People who pre-order the game will get the Nuketown 2025 map for free.
