Cam Newton joins the Windows Phone 8 hype in new TV ad

As we have mentioned before, Microsoft is using well known celebrities, such as Jessica Alba and Gwen Stefani, in recent TV commercials to help get the word out on Windows Phone 8. In the latest TV ad that Microsoft has just launched, it"s turning to the professional sports world for their marketing campaign.

The ad, posted on YouTube, shows Heisman Trophy winner, and current quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, Cam Newton and his HTC Windows Phone 8X at work. As with the previous chips, Newton"s ad shows how he customizes his Live Tiles screen for his needs.

It"s not a shock to learn he likes to play games on his smartphone, nor that he keeps track of his friends, his product endorsements and his charity foundation. However, it is a little surprising to learn that Newton also shows he is learning to cook via the AllRecipes app on his phone. The end of the TV spot has him accepting a baking challenge from his own mother, which cuts to Newton taking a picture of his creation and getting some mad props from his friends while wearing a chef outfit.

We are supposed to be getting a Windows Phone 8 ad featuring actor Andy Samberg in the near future, but so far it hasn"t appeared online or on TV.
