Last year, Capcom announced that it would be bringing classic Resident Evil games to the Nintendo Switch, including the original game, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4. Now, the company is bringing more of its action-horror franchise to the hybrid, with the announcement of two more titles coming this year.
During the Nintendo Direct event for E3, Nintendo revealed that Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 will both be arriving on the Switch this fall, joining the three games released earlier this year. Unfortunately, the company didn"t show a lot of gameplay for the games, but they should be mostly unchanged from the original versions. Cooperative modes seem to be supported as well.
As you can probably glean from the names, these two titles are more recent, and this is also the first time they"re being brought to a Nintendo console, which should be pretty good news for fans. The two games are not among the most critically acclaimed of the Resident Evil franchise, but it does give Nintendo gamers the chance to at least try them. And, with any luck, if these games do well on the hybrid, Capcom will bring more of its higher-quality entries to the platform in the future.
