It was only a couple years ago when Casio debuted its first Android Wear smartwatch, the WSD-F10. While it has typically trended in the $500 price range for the majority of its time on Amazon, it looks like the price has recently dipped, making its way down to a $249.99.
Although there are a lot of Android Wear smartwatch options available on the market, the WSD-F10 is a little different because of its rugged exterior, that will allow the watch to survive in harsh elements. If unfamiliar, the watch offers a 1.32-inch dual-layer display (320×300 pixels), MIL-STD-810 compliance, water resistance up to 50 meters, pressure sensors, a compass, accelerometer, and Android Wear app support.
Like most Android Wear watches, the Casio does suffer from its inability to last more than a day on a single charge. This might not be a problem for someone that comes home and has the ability to charge the unit, but for someone that is using it for extended periods outdoors, such as overnight camping, this could become a huge issue. While there are ways to avoid this problem, like using an external battery to charge the device, there is a tiny bit of a silver lining. While it won"t allow the watch to be used in its full capacity, the WSD-F10 can be put into a "Timepiece Mode" that will utilize the dual-layer display, showing off the time in a simple monochrome mode.
