CDPR drops 48 minutes of Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay footage

CD Projekt RED finally showed off its newest project Cyberpunk 2077 with a high-intensity in-engine trailer at E3 earlier this year, however, gameplay footage was only shown behind closed doors to various journalists, leaving fans in anticipation. Today, after a long and cryptic Twitch stream, a brand new gameplay demo was finally unveiled for the world

The full 48-minute demo is seen above, but be warned, the demo is very much not safe for work, having large amounts of nudity from the get-go and plenty of gore.

The demo has the player character, V, going through Night City doing various missions, starting from the character creation window to some high-level clashes. As previously revealed, and unlike The Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2077 is played in first-person with cutscenes sometimes moving the camera to the third person perspective.

Although way too many details were shown off in the demo to list off, some highlights include powerups that come in the form of inhalers, providing players bullet time for instance, and driving, which we got a small taste of. Meanwhile, upgrading the player character involved V visiting a Ripper Doc clinic, where an entire eyeball was replaced to one with scanning capabilities alongside an arm upgrade. Ripper Docs will come in legal and illegal forms, and some of them will even offer military-grade upgrades to players for a price.

Although impressive, keep in mind that the demo is still from a work in progress title, evident by some of the weird animations and pop-in issues. CD Projekt RED has not attached a release date to its highly-anticipated RPG just yet, but we may be in for a long wait, considering the game is said to still be in pre-alpha. Hopefully, this is only the first of many upcoming gameplay demos.
